13 MORE GREAT SHORT STORIES BY RAMSEY CAMPBELL

I’ve already written several previous articles examining the works my favorite writer Ramsey Campbell, but since few things in life bring me so much joy, I think it’s time to look at some more. The header artwork above appears in the collection TOLD BY THE DEAD (for the “Dead Letters” story) and is credited to […]

FAR AWAY AND NEVER BY RAMSEY CAMPBELL REVIEW

FAR AWAY AND NEVER collects the fantasy stories of Ramsey Campbell. Ramsey has gained his fame primarily as a horror writer, so it was a rare treat to see how he handled my second favorite genre of stories. A few years back I looked into buying a copy of this collection, originally published in 1996, […]

Ramsey Campbell Novellas and Novelettes

Last year to honor my favorite writer’s birthday I took a look at several of his novels. This year we’re going to check out a few of his novellas and a novelette. Campbell is a master at creating the feeling of increasing unease and dread that mounts with each turned page. 1. “Needing Ghosts” (1990) […]

Christmas Horror Story Reading List 2014

It’s time for the 2nd Annual Christmas Horror Story list! I think we have a pretty strong batch here, spanning from 1890 to 1977. I think I’ve found a particularly strong batch of eerie Christmas stories for you this year, but if you’re looking for more, I posted two separate lists last year, which you […]

Hope everyone’s enjoying October’s monthlong trek toward Halloween. The leaves have started changing color, lurid specters have escaped their basement storage box dungeons to mingle among the living again, and Horror Delve’s Second Annual Halloween Reading List has emerged from the darkness. The stories on this list aren’t necessarily set during Halloween, but they are […]

HOLES FOR FACES BY Ramsey Campbell

I’ve made no secret of my love for Ramsey Campbell’s work. His are the first stories I read in any anthology in which he’s featured, and I’ve consumed more of his novels than any other writer. His collection of stories, ALONE WITH THE HORRORS, would be my “trapped on a deserted island” book choice for […]

RAMSEY CAMPBELL NOVELS

Today is Ramsey Campbell’s birthday. He’s my favorite writer and reading his work inspired me to write my own horror tales. Born in 1946 in Liverpool, England, he now resides in Merseyside and is one of the most accomplished writers of weird/horror fiction alive. He published his first short story in 1962 at age 17. […]

Review of HUNGRY MOON by Ramsey Campbell

If you were to peruse my bookshelf you’d find the name Ramsey Campbell outnumbers any other by wide margin. His short story collection ALONE WITH THE HORRORS is an absolute masterpiece. I consider him a can’t miss writer. Somehow his 1986 novel THE HUNGRY MOON remained unread on shelf until this past month. I’ve seen […]
