This past week I was honored to have legendary podcaster and literary historian Jim Moon perform a reading of my short story “Christmas Wine” on his Great Library of Dreams podcast. I’ve long been a fan Jim’s podcasts, so it was extra-cool to hear him read a story of mine.
As for the story itself, “Christmas Wine” was originally published in the first volume of the Grinning Skull Press Christmas anthology series O Little Town of Deathlehem in 2013, all the proceeds of which went to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. I’ve since had two additional Christmas-themed horror tales published in later volumes of the series (“Here He Comes A-Wandering” in Deathlehem Revisited in 2015 and “Lovely Weather For An Unseelie Ride Together” in A Tree Lighting in Deathlehem in 2019).
So, if you’re in the mood for an eerie ghost story set at Christmas time, give Jim’s reading of “Christmas Wine” a listen. For even more spooky, festive delights, including in-depth explorations of the origins of both classic and obscure Christmas traditions, additional story readings, and much more, subscribe to his Hypnogoria and Great Library of Dreams podcasts. Personally, I find listening to them a holiday tradition I look forward to each year.
