I’ve been a fan of Raven Bower since her first book, APPARITIONS. Her ability to introduce lifelike, realistic characters into bone-chilling scenes of nightmarish terror are second-to-none. WEEPING DARK receives my highest possible recommendation.
Raven’s love for both the horror and fantasy genres seemed to have influenced her answer to Horror Delve’s question:
What was your favorite Halloween costume, Raven Bower?
“Hm. That’s a good question. I’d have to go with my Blood Fairy costume though for several reasons.
First, it gave me the opportunity to debaucherize the standard fairy costume – you know, that glittery, wince-worthy pink. Ack!
And blood fairies are a nasty little creature found in the woodlands in our Fantasy world of Farath. I couldn’t help it. They made me create them. It was either comply or be sliced into wee bitty chunks by their razor sharp wings and then fed upon until I was but a mere withered husk!
Brutal they are! Brutal!”
Raven and Lain’s Bio:
Raven and Lain Bower are a wife and husband team of writers. They are avid role-players and love to design mythical and diabolical creatures, characters and fantastic worlds together. They live in Northern Michigan with their four kids, hellhounds, alien doom cats and the ever growing tentacle army.
In their *cough* spare time *cough* they enjoy gardening, home improvement projects, archery and target shooting.
Raven is an aquarist – obsessed with creating mini-ecosystems encased in glass (read natural aquascapes in fish tanks) and raises assorted freshwater fish, shrimp and plants.
Lain is an accomplished technician who upgrades and repairs audio equipment, mostly Carver amplifiers, and various electronic devices.
